ACCOUNTANT I – (RI. 9) – POSITIONS – ONE (1) .Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute,
Duties and Responsibilities
Collation of financial estimates;
Determination of aggregate expenditure;
Supervision of the revenue collection processes;
Preparation of final accounts and statements;
Interpretation of all regulations of the Institute pertaining to financial control and management;
Minimum Requirements for Appointment
Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of at least C+ (Plus) or its equivalent;
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following; Commerce (Accounting or Finance option), Business Administration, or their equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution. Passed part III of Certified Public Accountant (CPA III) examination or its equivalent qualification from recognized institution;
Satisfactorily served at the position of Accountant II for minimum of three (3) years in a public sector or equivalent position in the private sector;
Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and computer literate.

Accounts Assistant (2 Positions)
Biblia Sacco Society Ltd intends to fill two vacant positions of Accounts Assistants whose duties and qualifications are as below:
Job Summary
Reporting to the Accountant, the holder of this position will be responsible for:
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving, authenticating and posting cheques and banking slips.
Managing and posting petty cash and ensuring all documents are updated, accurate and complete.
Handling, writing and banking cheques.
Processing Invoices, payments, requests for payment as per company procedure.
Updating members’ standing orders, direct debits, and any other form of remittances.
Ensuring all entries in the bank statements have been entered in the cash books.
Producing relevant reports in respect to member accounts details.
Undertaking reconciliations of various Society accounts.
Ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity of cash operations.
Undertaking control accounts reconciliations.
Timely and accurate filing of the SACCO’s statutory obligations i.e. PAYE, NSSF, NHIF &
HELB on a monthly basis.
Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
Key Qualifications:
KCSE C or its equivalent.
Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA II) or its equivalent
Must be a born again Christian
Proficiency in computer skills.
2 years relevant experience.
