
Adherence and Retention Officer ,Siaya .Centre for Health Solutions-Kenya
CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Adherence and Retention Officer – 15/CHS/040/2017 in Siaya.
Overall Job Function
Responsible for providing technical support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of adherence support activities required for HIV prevention, care and treatment services within CHS-supported facilities, in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Overseeing planning, initiation and implementation of the CHS Adherence and Psychosocial Support (APSC) minimum package of care at CHS-supported facilities
Participating in the development of APSC tools to be used for documentation and as job aids in health facilities
Identifying training needs, planning, facilitating, and taking part in training of health care workers and other stakeholders on adherence and psychosocial support and PwP using national training curricula
Supporting planning, implementation and evaluation of defaulter identification and tracking systems at supported health facilities
Ensuring meaningful involvement of peer educators and mentor mothers in APSC activities
In liaison with the MoH, participate in activities that lead to strengthened linkages between health facilities and their communities
Providing technical assistance to health care workers and other stakeholders in implementation of the CHS community support model
Providing technical assistance in psychosocial activities targeting healthcare workers living with HIV
Supporting planning, implementation and evaluation of Prevention with Positives (PwP) activities at facilities
Implementing evidence-based techniques and strategies to ensure quality programming in adherence and psychosocial and prevention activities under the direction of the APSC Advisor
Identifying, documenting and sharing best practices and key lessons learnt on adherence and psychosocial support from health facilities and the community
Qualification and Skills Required
Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent
Minimum of three years working experience
Familiarity with the Kenyan health system
Familiarity with HIV community programs including peer education
