Overall Purpose
To provide driving and administrative support to the Norwegian Red Cross staff and programmes managed by the regional representation in Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities
•Perform official driving assignments related to Delegates, Staff and visitors to the Regional Office
•Perform official driving assignments related to tasks and assignments in relation to daily activities of the Regional Office for utility accounts
•Carry out logistics, administrative and financial follow-up tasks, as assigned.
•Safely drive KRCS fleet vehicles for the transport of passengers and cargo as instructed and ensure that all occupants of the vehicle are wearing safety belts. Driving assignments include field trips to rural areas with overnight stays
•Ensure proper use and security of assigned KRCS vehicles and equipment. Also ensure the vehicles are cleaned, refuelled and are in operational condition at all times
•Make correct entries into the log book and ensure proper records are kept of all the spare keys, repairs, equipment (e.g. radios, antennae, etc) and fuel intakes
•Perform daily inspections for the assigned or any other vehicles and report to the supervisor accordingly
•Understand and obey all applicable traffic signs, rules and regulations
•Obey all lawful instructions of Police Officers in respective countries where the assigned vehicle will be driven
•Comply with working hours as regulated, in accordance with the operational requirements of the KRCS
•Make any such repairs that are necessary for the efficient operation of the vehicles including changing tyres in case of a puncture, changing oils, car batteries, etc.
•Advice supervisor of needed maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
•Carry out pre-repairs and post-repairs inspection and all related maintenance
•Follow up monthly service repairs and generate reports.
•Assist support services officer in coordinating and ensuring timely organization of all welcome services provided to Norcross delegates, staff visitors, and NS staff.
•Assist support services officer manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure information is passed to the relevant recipients.
•Assist in maintaining accurate asset inventory for Norcross office and delegate apartments.
•Assist finance officer to facilitate payment processes.
•Assist in filing and labelling.
•Deliver necessary documentation to appropriate destinations for processing such as applications for work permits, driving licences etc.
Minimum Qualifications
•Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (“O” Level) with a pass in English and Kiswahili Languages.
•Certificate in a business course will be an added advantage.
•Motor-Vehicle Trade Test Certificate, valid Driving Licence Class B, C, E & certificate of good conduct
•Over Five (5) years relevant experience in a similar position, preferably with an international organisation, NGO or an embassy
•Proficient computer skills and mechanic knowledge of vehicles.

•Ability to perform safety inspections, recognize and report mechanical problems, perform preventive maintenance check (oil, and all fluid levels, tire pressure) etc.
•Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines and complete tasks without jeopardizing integrity of work.
