Our main focus is to work with small holder farmers and groups as the supplier of nuts to our processing facility. Our Fair-Trade certification ensures that farmers are protected from prices fluctuations as it sets the minimum pricesCurrently we are working with a total of 30, 000 macadamia farmers from Mt Kenya region and Taita Hills. Our farmers are duo certified into organic and fair-trade. Our processing facility is based in Nairobi, Kenya which employs a total of 800 workers.

Ten Senses Africa (TSA) is a company that is dedicated to organic, fair trade and ethical business practices.  To develop a sustainable Social Enterprise that manages a value chain for Fair Trade products (nuts) from East Africa. Thus, improving the livelihoods of 1 million small holder farmers in the next 10 years in a way that builds a stronger Africa.  To enable us to achieve this initiative we are currently sourcing for:

NURSERY MANAGER & SUPERVISOR (8 Positions)

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or agribusiness
  • Minimum two years’ experience in nursery and out grower management
    Good Reporting skills
  • Proven community mobilization skills and ability to effectively communicate – verbal & written
    Team player and leadership and supervision capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives without close supervision
  • Ability to produce and sell seedlings to serve farmers and others involved in the agriculture industry
  • Desire to remain updated with new agricultural trends and technology
  • Computer literate and a valid Driver’s License

AGRONOMIST (1 Position)

Requirements

  • Degree in Agriculture with emphasis on agronomy, crop, soil, pest and disease management or Diploma with work experience in nursery project or out grower management
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office software, email, internet, spread sheets
    Good diagnostic and decision making skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate – verbal & written skills
  • Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives without close supervision
  • Desire to serve farmers and others involved in the agriculture industry
  • Desire to remain updated with new agricultural trends and technology
  • Self-motivation, willingness to learn and good work ethic
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with organic productions is added advantage

FIELD OFFICER (30 Positions)

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in agriculture and agri-related courses
  • Minimum two years’ experience in either agro-business development (farmer groups, buyers, traders, transporters, input suppliers or processors) OR community related projects
  • Proven community mobilization skills and ability to effectively communicate – verbal & written
  • Motor cycle driving skills

ACCOUNTANT (2 Positions)

Job Brief
Provide support to Operations group, through information analyses (e.g. current processes, actual performance vs. budget and prior year, budget, etc.), preparation of operational data/analyses for publication to various constituents throughout company (Management, Sales, Product Management, Operations, etc.) who rely on/benefit from the information to make informed business decisions. Primary responsibilities will include assisting Operations team in the Monthly Operations Review, identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly analysis of cost of goods sold and operational expenses against prior year and budget, providing explanations and business solutions to help mitigate the risks.
  • Partner with Product Management and Purchasing Team in determining financial impact due to product cost reductions, new product roll out, etc. and prepare periodic forecasts to update management on projected results.
  • Analyse financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
  • Identify, investigate, and analyse potential operational improvement. As appropriate, based on findings make proposal for operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, etc.)
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Understand and follow company rules and regulations
  • Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements

  • CPAK
  •  Have a flare for numbers, work well with people, aggressively anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and have a very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
  • Strong experience in income statement analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects.
