
VIDEO PRODUCTION FOR AAH KENYA PROJECTS
AAH Kenya began operations in Narok County in 2005 and is committed to working with the marginalized people of Kenya to overcome poverty and realize better health and livelihoods. AAH Kenya has adopted an integrated programming approach in partnership with its supporters to bring lasting change in the lives of Kenyan communities.
We are recruiting a short-term videographer to produce an AAH Kenya country programme video that captures ongoing programme implementation and impact. The video will be used for resource mobilization, knowledge management and project visibility, and is targeted towards existing and potential funding partners, implementing partners, AAH-I staff, government officials working with AAH-I and actors in the wider development sectors.

CONSULTANCY: STRENGTHENING GROUP SKILLS ON PRODUCTION & MARKETING OF CERAMICS AND POTTERY
The Kenya programme of Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is the lead implementing partner in food security and livelihoods under the Support for Protection and Assistance of Refugees in Kenya (SPARK) Programme. SPARK is a DIFID-funded project being implemented in Turkana West Sub-county through a consortium of 5 international NGOs – NRC (lead agency), Film Aid International, Danish Refugee Council, Handicap International and AAH-I.
Refugees and host community in Kakuma have a potential of improving and strengthening their value chains, which aims at an overall enhancement of self-reliance and livelihoods. With the availability of raw materials, construction of building material, energy saving jikos, ceramics, pottery and brackets will be achieved. The consultant will be required to provide trainings to 100 persons of concern (PoCs) and ensure they are skilled in assembling, advertising and selling of the products.
Required competencies, skills and qualifications:
The Consultant should:
- Exhibit high level of personal and professional integrity, and be guided by propriety in the conduct of their business.
- Be experienced and professional who understand strategic planning, and are knowledgeable about NGO/humanitarian operations.
- Have wide-ranging background and experience with similar assignments in the region of focus, preferably with pastoral communities, with a broad understanding of social dynamics, value chains establishments and operations, partnerships, capacity building, coordination with different stakeholders etc.
- Have conducted participatory group training or individuals in production of ceramic, pottery and briquettes for competitive markets.
- Have a degree in relevant field i.e. Community development, design and sustainable development. Candidates with practical field experiences will have an added advantage.
- Have excellent report drafting and communication skills in English
- Be fluent in spoken Kiswahili and English
- Have the ability to work on tight schedules and travel in all-weather terrain

TRAINING ON COMMUNITY-MANAGED DISASTER RISK REDUCTION, NAROK WEST SUB-COUNTY
Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) seeks to strengthen the skills of the project staff and community leaders to be able to design, manage and monitor the improvement in incomes in the resilience of vulnerable communities in Mara.
The goal of this consultancy is to strengthen the ability of the project staff and community leaders to better support target groups to assess, mitigate and recover from hazards and vulnerabilities related to shocks in Narok West Sub-County. The consultants will use the Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) methodology. Communities’ capacity and experience in implementing sustainable livelihood and resilient activities (projects) for income generation will be drawn upon during development of community action plans and complemented with conventional interventions to safeguard their human, social, physical, natural and financial capital.
