In today’s digital age, brands need to reach their customers via different online channels more effectively and efficiently. This, in turn, has increased the demand for professionals with the knowledge to build brand awareness and loyalty online, as well as the data skills to analyze target audience social media usage.
On April 12, 2016, Google announced a plan to train 1 Million African youth on digital skills within one year. As a result of this announcement Google partnered with Blu Flamingo to bolster its already existing program; DigiCon Mini, a digital training initiative targeting the youth.
DigiCon Mini is a new pathway in education, employment, and empowerment, proving that by learning and improving digital skills, one can increase their chances of becoming employed or starting their own business or freelance career in Sub-Saharan Africa.
