Nutrition Formative Assessment Consultant

CARE Kenya is seeking a consultancy firm/individual to conduct a nutrition formative assessment to find out more about knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) around nutrition, food access and availability, food consumption patterns, social and behavior practices, social and gender norms that influence dietary practices by women, children, households, and community members.
The purpose of the formative assessment involves a comprehensive assessment of the food environment, including food availability, affordability, and accessibility, as well as an evaluation of the nutritional knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of the target population.
The Consultant is expected to include a KAP survey, focus group discussions, Key informant interviews and other methods from a sample of targeted community project beneficiaries.
The formative assessment will also seek to determine locally available food and nutrition services available within the three geographical areas of interest: Nyandarua, Nakuru and Nairobi Counties.
The consultant will report to Program Manager-CASCADE, who will also be the contact to the consultant(s) and ensure access to requisite documents and other support needed to facilitate work of the consultant.
