We are looking for a T4D Specialist who provides professional, technical, operational, and administrative support in the identification, assessment, and integration of technology into UNICEF programming. The T4D Specialist works closely with Programme staff and in close liaison with the UNICEF Innovation where applicable. They are responsible for coordinating and facilitating the mainstreaming effort, and for strengthening internal capacity to lead and support Technology for Development (T4D) and Digital Public Goods related projects, identifying and engaging with key partners, identifying reusable and replicable technical building blocks and maximizing potential for T4D scale-up and roll-out. The T4D Specialist will also support with partnerships management, communications, and resource mobilization for DCOE.

UNICEF ESAR is planning to conduct a prefeasibility analysis on carbon credits and the potential for UNICEF to participate in the voluntary credits market focusing on East and South Africa. The participation of UNICEF ESAR in the voluntary carbon credit market can be closely related to the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and country goals and ambitions of the region. Many countries in Eastern and Southern Africa have set ambitious targets for reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, as outlined in their NDCs under the Paris Agreement. By participating in the carbon credit market, UNICEF ESAR can help countries in the region achieve their emissions reduction targets while also supporting sustainable development goals.
