Duties and Responsibilities

At the National Employment Authority, we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Office Assistants. The role of an Office Assistant is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our office environment. As an Office Assistant, you will be responsible for a range of tasks aimed at maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  1. Cleaning offices, machines/equipment/apparatus: Ensuring that our workspace is clean and hygienic is crucial. You’ll be responsible for cleaning offices and any equipment or apparatus as needed.
  2. Collecting and disposing of waste: Proper waste disposal is essential for a healthy work environment. You’ll play a vital role in collecting and disposing of waste in a responsible manner.
  3. Dusting offices: Regular dusting to maintain a clean and dust-free workspace.
  4. Ensuring habitable office conditions: Monitoring and maintaining the overall habitability of the office environment, including temperature and lighting.
  5. Moving or carrying office equipment and furniture: Assisting with the relocation of office equipment and furniture as required, ensuring everything is well-arranged.
  6. Dispatching letters: Efficiently handling the distribution of letters and documents within the office.
  7. Arranging for meeting venues: Professionally and timely arranging meeting venues as needed.
  8. Keeping inventory of kitchen equipment: Maintaining an inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is well-stocked.
  9. Preparing and serving office tea: Preparing and serving tea to colleagues and guests as necessary.
  10. Performing office and messengerial duties: Assisting with various office tasks to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position of Office Assistant, you must meet the following requirements:

  • At least a mean grade D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
