Job Requirements

To qualify for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Kenyan Citizenship: Candidates must be Kenyan citizens.
  2. Educational Qualification: A minimum of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is required.
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  4. Professional Competence and Integrity: Candidates should demonstrate outstanding professional competence and integrity in their work performance and results.
  5. Chapter 6 Compliance: Applicants must satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Job Description

As Support Staff I, your role will be vital in maintaining and improving the aesthetics and functionality of Nairobi’s urban spaces. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. Drain Clearing and Litter Bin Emptying: Ensuring that drains are clear and litter bins are emptied regularly to prevent blockages and maintain cleanliness.
  2. Street and Open Spaces Sweeping: Keeping the streets and open spaces of Nairobi clean and presentable.
  3. Litter Picking and Drainage Unclogging: Removing litter and debris from public areas and unclogging drainages to prevent flooding.
  4. Solid Waste Removal: Collecting and loading solid waste, and ensuring it is disposed of properly at the designated sites.
  5. Grass Slashing and Fence Trimming: Maintaining the greenery of the city by slashing grass and trimming fences.
  6. Tree Planting and Beautification: Participating in tree planting and other beautification activities to enhance the city’s aesthetics.
  7. Landscaping and River Regeneration: Contributing to landscaping projects and activities aimed at regenerating rivers in the Nairobi area.
  8. Ad-Hoc Duties: Performing any other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
