International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Fellow to lead Bioinformatic analysis within ILRI genomic platform that conduct research on a range of topics including genomic epidemiology and surveillance of pathogens in the context of one health, pandemic preparedness and climate change.
The Fellow will work with scientists and post-graduate students at ILRI-Kenya, and collaborating institutions such as Centre for epidemic response and innovation (CERI) in South Africa, African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) in Nigeria and the Africa CDC.
ILRI works to improve food security and nutrition, and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 11 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world.
Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, ILRI has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org
