This position is in the American Embassy’s Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration requires advanced clerical and administrative support ability, driving proficiency and vehicle maintenance skills.
The incumbent performs a variety of clerical and administrative support duties to support all Transportation Security Staff including, but not limited to, typing and preparing correspondence, filing documents, answering telephone calls and taking messages, making appointments, escorting visitors to Transportation Security Administration offices, host government offices, other diplomatic missions and assisting with Transportation Security Administration events, briefings and conferences.
The incumbent drives vehicles to deliver and pick up persons (including the Regional Director, Africa Middle East, Administrative Management Specialist and other Transportation Security Administration staff from the region and headquarters and VIP visitors) and materials and ensures that the vehicles are maintained in top operating condition at all times.
The incumbent will directly support or fill in for the Administrative Management Specialist with events and, or other substantive Transportation Security Administration work related to the regional office and other offices as may arise from time to time.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Five years of commercial driving experience with B, C, E license including one year experience driving four-wheel vehicles is required. Must also have at least one year clerical/administrative support experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Should have knowledge of various locations in Nairobi to include government office locations.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Evaluations:

English: Level 3 – Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing.
Swahili: Level 2 – Limited knowledge; speaking, reading & writing.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Should have knowledge of basic auto mechanics, common safety practices with regard to vehicle operation and ability to ensure the safety of passengers.
Should have basic typing and clerical skills.
Should have basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft word, excel.
