The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to-policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. The Center is Africa-based and African-led, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, and a West Africa Regional Office (WARO), in Dakar, Senegal. APHRC seeks to drive change by developing strong African research leadership and promoting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across sub-Saharan Africa.
The APHRC invites applications for Qualitative Field Interviewers in a project that is aimed at building the Implementation Research capacities of Africa’s Universities and Research Institutions.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct key informant and in depth interviews.
- Conduct online interviews and make follow-ups on incomplete interviews.
- Write and submit comprehensive notes of data collection and any other observations.
- Any other related task assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in a health-related discipline.
- Proven experience in qualitative data collection – i.e. conducting key informant interviews and in depth interviews.
- Experience in conducting desk reviews.
- Knowledge of scientific publishing and/or journals landscape will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details.
- Must be fully available for the engagement period.
