Job Overview

As an ECDE Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the early development of young children, providing a solid foundation for their future learning and growth. You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages holistic developmentā€”covering spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, and emotional growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Class Teaching

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of young children.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to ensure all learners grasp fundamental concepts and skills.

2. Role Modelling, Guidance, and Counselling

  • Serve as a positive role model, guiding and mentoring learners.
  • Provide counselling and motivation to support the emotional and social development of children.

3. Preparing Reports

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of learners’ progress and development.
  • Prepare and present reports to parents, guardians, and school administrators.

4. Ensuring Safety and Security

  • Create a secure and safe learning environment for all learners.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to protect children at all times.

5. Designing and Facilitating Play/Learning Activities

  • Assist in the design, organization, and facilitation of play-based learning activities.
  • Encourage interactive and experiential learning through well-planned activities.

6. Holistic Development

  • Nurture the spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, and emotional growth of learners.
  • Develop and implement programs that support the overall well-being and development of each child.

7. Managing ECDE Classes

  • Maintain professional and administrative records, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and daily activity programs.
  • Ensure accurate attendance registers and monitor class participation.

8. Preparing and Developing Play/Learning Materials

  • Create and organize educational materials that enhance learning experiences.
  • Develop resources that are age-appropriate and aligned with curriculum objectives.
