Tax and Legal Internship Open At Cytonn Investment

To manage the rapid growth, we are looking for dynamic and hardworking individuals with strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills to join the Cytonn Young Leadership Program (CYLP) as tax and legal class intern. Under the Cytonn Young Leaders Program, the successful candidates will undergo a rigorous 12 week training, aimed at equipping them with practical and competitive skills in the company’s various areas of operations. The candidates will be exposed to challenging yet fulfilling career options with an emphasis on leadership, critical thinking and problem solving skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Research and analyze difficult tax problems to determine solutions.
  2. Review past financial data and establish any tax gaps and proposed solutions to close the loopholes .
  3. Review the accuracy of the tax computations, tax returns, filing, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports for the various entities under group and make necessary amendments or recommendations to ensure tax compliance.
  4. Identify tax savings and recommend strategies to remove tax leakages.
  5. Maintain and manage the organization’s tax database.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulations by forwarding necessary documents to relevant tax authorities.
  7. Keep abreast with relevant tax laws changes and trends and make suggestions to ensure tax compliance.
  8. Perform accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
  9. Demonstrate technical knowledge of tax reporting with hands-on experience with iTax.
  10. Identify and convey difficulties in reporting appropriately, contacting management as needed.
  11. Any other duties as my be assigned by the supervisors.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Law or related field with a minimum of second class, upper division.
  2. Minimum KCSE overall grade of B+, with a B+ in Mathematics and English or equivalent.
  3. A professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be required.
  4. Knowledge of the Kenyan and other relevant Tax Laws; including Tax Procedures Act in Kenya.
  5. Sound business acumen with great analytical and organization skills.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Excellent report writing skills and good computer skills.
