Job Purpose and Key responsibilities

Job Purpose:
The role holder will be responsible in leading and managing the assigned banks to distribute profitable Britam
products, coordination with the bancassurance head office managers, Bancassurance Officers and Regional
relationship officers to generate revenues for all lines of businesses. Work together with the regional team
to support implementation of the specific bank partners strategies across different regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Bancassurance Head office team responsible for partner portfolio strategies for full
    implementation in the regions on all lines of businesses (GI, Medical, EMC, Life & Pension).
  • Work together with regional relationship officers to develop a regional-specific strategy to unlock
    potential with key bank partners.
  • Responsible for supporting onboarding regional domiciled partners i.e., Saccos, MFI’s and other
    financial institutions.
  • Implement all drivers of business to deliver on all agreed service level agreements at regional levels.
  • Communicate regional expectations and provide insights back to the business to deliver
    competitively on a product or process for different regions.
  • Ensures team working and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure profitable business growth objectives are met with each allocated region through new
    business and retention of existing business.
  • Develop training calendars for regional bank teams on products and process and oversee
    implementation of all training programmes.
  • Support in managing relationships of key regional accounts and corporate clients to support regional
    sales officers/managers.
  • Facilitate preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for insurance business and ensure they
    are delivered promptly to potential clients.
  • Oversee the processing of tenders/RFPs and ensure required documentation is availed on time for
    the allocated banks.
  • Share feedback in product development and delivery for right fit of products to the partners.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on renewals to ensure that the prescribed retention ratio is achieved.
  • Ensure debt management in lines with the set credit control for all business booked by self and by
    assigned banca relationship executives.
  • Ensure assigned relationship executives have approved work plans and schedules.
  • Ensure preparation of expense budgets and revenue targets as shall be stipulated from time to time.
  • Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Relationship building & sales management

  • Builds, maintains, and sustain business relationships with the bank partners’ branch managers, RMs
    & Senior Relationship Managers at the branches.
  • Active management of relationships with all bank branches to ensure smooth running of the
    distribution channels in delivering targets.
  • Integrate well with all members of the team into a harmonious unit committed to the team vision and
    direction within the team (Intra-team).
  • Takes personal responsibility for coaching and mentoring others.
  • Receptive to constructive criticism, feedback and ideas from supervisors, business partners and
  • Maintain event calendars for all partners to increase team building and synergy while ensuring Britam
    brand building.
  • Applies knowledge, resources, and experience to resolve problems.
  • Ensure after sales service support including provision of the requisite contracting documentation
    such as policy documents, cover notes etc.
  • Ensure that all SLAs and TATs are met and report any deviations to inform corrective action.
  • Maintain an activities tracker that ensures that all strategic initiatives are well always tracked for the
    allocated banks.


  • Ensures empowerment trainings on products and processes to our mutual bank partners (Across all
    lines of businesses) takes place in the regions as and when required.
  • Ensures that induction training are carried out for all new partner officers on Britam processes and
  • Ensure that customers are well appraised on the solutions taken up through training, write-ups and
    after-sales follow-up for feedback.


  • Ensure that stipulated weekly and monthly reports are prepared and shared within the agreed
    timelines and in the format stipulated.
  • Ensure that monthly expense reports are prepared and submitted within the stipulated processes
    and procedures.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or any other business-related degree.
  • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, FLMI or IIK), or Significant progress.
  • 3-6 years experience in insurance services/Financial two of which must be in a busy insurance
    business development environment, sales relationship management and or bancassurance
