Job Objective
The job holder will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the areas of Film Technology, Cinematic Arts, and related courses. As a Senior Lecturer, you will contribute to curriculum development, support student projects, participate in departmental committees, and play an active role in advancing the University’s academic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Lecturer in Film Technology, your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and facilitating learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through various methods such as lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions.
- Designing and delivering high-quality course materials and assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Participating in the development, administration, and marking of exams, assignments, and continuous assessment tests.
- Preparing schemes of work, maintaining academic records, and monitoring student progress and attendance.
- Providing academic advising and feedback to support student development.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and theses.
- Conducting academic research and publishing in refereed journals.
- Writing research proposals and applying for internal and external research grants.
- Contributing to the planning and implementation of innovative curricula and teaching strategies.
- Participating in departmental seminars and conferences to present research findings and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Serving in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees.
- Maintaining accurate records of students’ academic performance and ensuring timely data entry in the examination management system.
- Engaging in professional development and participating in institutional training sessions.
- Supporting student-centered activities, university events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Performing other duties as assigned from time to time by the Head of Department or University Management.
