Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new business growth, managing client relationships, and developing strategies to increase the company’s market share in Kenya. This role involves understanding market dynamics, identifying potential opportunities, and converting prospects into long-term customers. The position requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, customer focus, and commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market Expansion and Strategy Development
    • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with the company’s overall growth objectives.
    • Identify new markets, business opportunities, and potential partnerships within the logistics and courier industry.
    • Conduct thorough market research to understand client needs, competition, and emerging trends affecting the business environment.
    • Collaborate with the senior management team to design and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals.
  2. Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Understand clients’ logistics and supply chain needs and recommend customized solutions that align with their objectives.
    • Serve as the main liaison between clients and the company, ensuring smooth communication and effective service delivery.
    • Regularly review client accounts to identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.
  3. Revenue Generation and Performance Tracking
    • Achieve set sales and revenue targets through proactive prospecting and effective account management.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales growth, market expansion, and customer satisfaction.
    • Prepare regular business reports, forecasts, and analysis for management decision-making.
    • Ensure pricing strategies remain competitive and aligned with corporate profitability goals.
  4. Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with the marketing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of customer contracts and solutions.
    • Participate in the development of promotional activities and campaigns that enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.
    • Support the development of proposals, presentations, and tender documents for potential clients.
  5. Compliance and Ethical Standards
    • Ensure that all business development activities comply with company policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
