Directorate of University Security Services
Director, University Security Services – Grade 14
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration & Finance), the Director, University Security Services, will oversee all aspects of security and safeguarding of University property. The role requires a strategic leader capable of coordinating diverse security operations while ensuring the safety of staff, students, and assets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforcing University rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain law and order.
- Collecting intelligence information to pre-empt security threats.
- Safeguarding University property, assets, and personnel.
- Coordinating all security operations across campuses.
- Remaining proactive and sensitive to emerging security issues.
- Advising University Management on security-related matters and risks.
- Reviewing and updating security arrangements as needed.
- Training personnel on security awareness and preparedness.
- Building harmonious working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including seconded and private security personnel.
- Strengthening collaborations with the National Security System.
Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies
Lecturer
The Lecturer in Philosophy will be responsible for advancing academic excellence through teaching, research, and contribution to knowledge dissemination.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in Philosophy.
- Conducting scholarly research and publishing in refereed journals.
- Supervising student research projects and theses.
- Attending and contributing to academic conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- Participating in departmental academic and administrative activities.
- Contributing to curriculum development and review in Philosophy.
Tutorial Fellow
The Tutorial Fellow in Philosophy will support the department through teaching, academic mentorship, and research.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in teaching undergraduate students in Philosophy.
- Supporting research activities within the department.
- Mentoring students in their academic journey.
- Participating in departmental seminars, workshops, and other academic forums.

The Directorate of Sports and Games is responsible for promoting physical education, talent development, and competitive sports at both national and international levels.
Coach C/D – Main Campus
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive sports training programs.
- Evaluating and selecting players to represent the University in competitions.
- Designing and analyzing game strategies and performance outcomes.
- Motivating and guiding players to achieve peak performance.
- Ensuring player safety and well-being during training sessions and competitions.
- Scheduling training sessions and matches while maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Performing any other duty assigned by the Director of Sports and Games.
Coach Grade A/B – Main, Parklands, Nakuru, Kitui, and Mombasa Campuses

Department of Environmental and Occupational Health
Technician Grade A/B
The Technician will play a critical role in providing technical support in teaching and research within public health laboratories. The position ensures practical exposure and training of students in environmental and occupational health.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting practical sessions for undergraduate students in public health laboratories.
- Assisting in research activities within the field of public health.
- Participating in community outreach programs related to environmental and occupational health.
- Overseeing management of public health laboratories and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to students regarding professional development.
- Undertaking any other duty as assigned by the University through relevant offices.
Department of Chemistry
Technician Grade A/B
The Technician in the Department of Chemistry will support teaching and research activities within the laboratories. The role ensures that students and researchers have access to high-quality technical assistance and safe laboratory environments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing and organizing laboratory experiments for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring proper calibration and functioning.
- Supporting teaching staff during laboratory sessions and research projects.
- Overseeing adherence to laboratory safety regulations and waste disposal protocols.
- Assisting in procurement and inventory management of laboratory supplies.
- Documenting laboratory processes, results, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Carrying out other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
