1. SENIOR NURSING OFFICER (BSCN) JG‘L’ (7 vacancies)
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nursing Officer in-Charge, the officer will be: –
• Responsible for the day to day nursing services in the county and sub county health facilities.
• Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patients’ outcomes; diagnosing common health conditions;
• Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization and reproductive health;
• Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs; referring patients and clients appropriately;
• Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
• Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care; ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
• Collecting and collating data for research; evaluating healthcare outcomes on patients/clients and preparing individualized reports;
• Conducting assessment of schools health needs; planning, implementing interventions and preparing periodic reports;
• Identifying occupational health needs and making appropriate recommendations.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
Reporting to the County Nursing Officer the officer will be -;
• Responsible for day to day nursing services in the county and sub-county health facilities
• Assessing patients and clients and establishing health care needs;
• Planning and implementing care interventions based on patients’/clients’ health needs;
• Providing appropriate healthcare services, including immunization, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), ante-natal care and delivery, administration of medication providing health education and counseling on identified health and socio-economic needs to patients/clients; Referring patients and clients appropriately; facilitating patients’ admission and discharge in a health facility;

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
The officer will be :-
• Receiving and documenting patients at hospital reception;
• Registering and booking appointment for patients to clinics and consultants;
• Storing and retrieving medical records documents; preparing clinics; updating bed bureau;
• Editing of patient case records;

Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level, working under the guidance of a senior officer will be:-
• Receiving and registering patients at hospital reception;
• Booking appointment for patients to specialty and consultants clinics;
• Storing and retrieving medical records and documents; preparing clinics; updating bed bureaus;

Responsibilities
Reporting to the in – charge of the facility, the officer will:-
• Plan for medical technology capital requirements including setting priorities and document requirements for annual technology plans.
• Do option analysis leading to a preferred solution.
• Prepare comprehensive project cost estimates including direct and indirect equipment, construction costs and relocation costs.
• Do equipment cost analysis to reflect anticipated expenditures and variances.
• Determine and communicate the advantages and disadvantages of alternative solutions with engineers and clinicians.
• Obtain terms and conditions of equipment trials from vendors.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nutritionist in- charge, the officer will:-
• Implement nutrition programs

• Collect and compile nutrition data

Responsibilities
The officer will be responsible for :-
• Preparing and implementing therapeutic diets for outpatients and inpatients
• Providing guidelines on therapeutic diets for existing and emerging diseases for hospital use and home-based care and other institutions
• Treating and counseling patients using specialized dietetic nutritionally modified products
• Implementing the nutrition and dietetic processes including screening, assessing, formatting and implementing nutrition interventions and evaluating outcomes

Responsibilities
The officer will be responsible for:-
• Supervising and guiding other staff working under the officer.
• Identifying public health issues in the community level.
• Assessing health needs in the community.
• Coordinating sanitation and hygiene programmes in the community.
• Sensitizing communities on food and water safety measures.
• Spearhead the CLTS process aimed to deliver village open defecation free
• Conducting Training for Public Health Trainees, Community Own Resource Persons (CORPS). Community based health volunteers (CHVs) and Community Health committee (CHCs) on Public Health Issues. Implementing public health programmes and projects.

Responsibilities
The officer will be responsible for :-

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Radiologist/ facility in- charge,the officer will:-
• Ensure Radiation Protection Rules, policies, standards and procedures are adhered to.
• Undertake Radiographic and Imaging examinations as required.
• Participate in continuous medical education activities in the hospital on health facilitation.
• Perform routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures and report any deficiencies or malfunctions
• Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and endeavor to achieve a high standard of image quality.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the County Pharmacist/ Facility In-charge, the officer will-;
• Ensure that there is an efficient supply of essential commodities and rational use of medicines in the county & Sub-county Health facilities.
• Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
• Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.

20. PHYSIOTHERAPIST-J/G ‘H’ (5 vacancies)
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facility In charge, the officer will-;
• Be expected to initiate appropriate physiotherapy intervention programs for patients & clients suffering from immobility and other disabilities in the hospital & in the community.
• Work with some patients and their families/caretakers over a period of weeks or months to identify and treat their physical problem;
• Develop and review treatment programmes, along with patients themselves that encourage exercise and movement by the use of a range of techniques;
• Assist Patients with joint and spinal problems, including following surgery;
• Help patients’ rehabilitation following accidents, injury and strokes;
• Assist in the supervision and education of student and junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy support workers;
• Write patient case notes and reports and collect statistics;
• Educate patients and their caregivers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions;
• Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients;
• Communicate with a wide range of patients, caregivers and health and social care team members;

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facility In charge, the officer will:-
• Initiate appropriate therapy intervention programs for patients & clients with disabilities in the Hospital and in the community.
• Advise on specialist equipment to assist with daily activities;
• Develop a rehabilitation programme to help rebuild lost skills and restore lost confidence;
• Advise on home and workplace environmental alterations, such as adjustments for wheelchair access;
• Teach anxiety management techniques;
• Assist people to return to work;
• Coach people with learning difficulties or poor social skills, e.g. in handling money and social interaction; mentoring people on how to control their own behavior;
• Liaise with other professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers and architects, as well as patients’ families,
caregivers and employers; writing reports and attending multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment;
• Organize support and rehabilitation groups for caregivers and clients;
• Train students and supervising the work of occupational therapy assistants;
• Manage a caseload, prioritizing needs, and completing administrative tasks such as patient and budgetary records.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facility In charge, the officer will:-
• Exhibition and give lectures to communities and schools;
• Collect data for fluoride testing in water samples,
• Analyze and interpret results and advising the relevant authorities accordingly.

Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Dentist in-charge the officer will:-
• Design, build, repair dental prosthesis
• Adjust dental devices for people who have lost teeth or need help to correct the appearance and performance of their teeth
• Create plastic or metal devices, such as braces, to straighten teeth
• Crown and bridge work – constructing items which can be cemented in place
• Produce plastic dentures or implants, some of which have metal inserts to help keep them straight
• Help to reconstruct the faces of people damaged by accident or disease

24. PLASTER TECHNICIAN – J/G ‘G’- (4 vacancies)
Responsibilities
The officer reporting to In-charge,will:-
• Work with the Orthopedic Surgeon and other health staff to provide caste to patients with bone & joint problems.
• Fit and apply pre-operative braces, crutches and other soft goods;
• Prepare and apply casts and orthopedic appliances; and removing sutures, casts and splints.
• Perform orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures and fracture reductions.
• Give patients instructions concerning cast care and the use of orthopedic appliances.
• Prepare or set up traction as requested by the physician and can assess patients in traction, detect deficiencies in the equipment and make adjustments as needed.
• Clean and stock the cast and soft goods room, order special supplies or equipment, and coordinate collection of patient data.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
Reporting to the officer in charge, the job holder will:-

• Prepare budgets and manage budgetary allocations
• Oversee revenue collection
• Oversee staff and patients ‘ welfare
• Ensure security at the facilities and general upkeep of the health facilities
