Amnesty is looking to fill the temporary position of Executive Assistant.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT (Temporary maternity cover)
Period: February – June 29, 2018
Salary range is Kshs 150,000-170,000 gross  

The purpose of the job is to provide high-level administrative support and coordinate internal communications and human resources of Amnesty International. This role acts as the first point of contact for management and the team and is required to exercise high standards of servicing to a range of stakeholders. This is a full-time position, which requires the ability and willingness to occasionally work out of office hours to meet deadlines. A high degree of diplomacy, political judgment and trouble-shooting skills are essential. The post holder will be an active team member of the team and will need to fully participate and help support the team’s activities. We are looking for someone with the following experience;

ESSENTIAL
 A degree in social sciences, management or another appropriate discipline
 Commitment to Amnesty organisational values and vision and Article 10 of the Kenyan constitution
 Experience of diary management, making travel arrangements, coordinating and servicing meetings.
 Ability to draft correspondence and other documents on behalf of the Executive Director.
 Experience of setting up and maintaining hard and soft information storage, retrieval and communication systems.
 Experience and willingness to undertake office work such as answering phones, photocopying, filing and archiving and organization of own task list.
 Good working knowledge of technology systems including Microsoft office, Excel and internet.
 Fluent level of written and spoken English essential
 Good inter-personal and communication skills including liaising with external guests;
 Ability to work as part of a small team;
 Ability to multi task and work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure; and
 Understands the importance of and commitment to safeguarding the confidential nature of the work.

DESIRABLE
 Demonstrated experience in working for an international organisation or one that works across multiple locations
 Significant experience in providing high level executive support to senior executives and/or board members, preferably in an international organization
