The Role:
We are seeking to recruit a candidate to join the actuarial team and contribute to service delivery through data analytics, actuarial and financial modelling and reporting.
Our actuarial services cover solvency assessments, actuarial reserving, economic capital modelling and management, risk management, actuarial due diligence, company restructuring and de-risking, financial modelling, product development and profit testing.
We provide advice and consulting services to insurers, banks and other financial services institutions across Kenya and East Africa.
Responsibilities
⦁ Data analysis and preparation for actuarial investigations
⦁ Building actuarial and other financial models
⦁ Carry out actuarial valuations and investigations
⦁ Financial reporting
⦁ Various other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
Academic and Professional:
⦁ BSc Actuarial Science degree (Second Class Honors Upper Division)
⦁ Actively pursuing actuarial qualification from a recognized professional body (Having passed a number of exams will show commitment to the career)
Work Experience
⦁ Basic knowledge in actuarial techniques and financial modelling
⦁ Relevant work experience of 3 – 12 months will be considered positively
⦁ Proficiency in spreadsheets
⦁ Remarkable quantitative and analytical skills
⦁ Advanced knowledge in programming with R or VBA is an added advantage
