Lake Victoria South Water Services Board was established on 12th March 2004 vide gazette notice No.1714 under the Water Act 2002 as a State Corporation. It is responsible for the provision of efficient and economical Water and Sanitation Services in Kisumu, Kericho, Bomet, Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya and some parts of Nandi and Narok Counties.
The invitation for interns follows the joint need by the Government of Kenya and the African Development Bank Group to create internship opportunities for qualified persons and to build capacity of human resources to achieve national developmental goals, in line with vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.
Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB) therefore invites applications for internship positions, from recent University graduates who have not undertaken any internship program. The internship opportunities are in the following fields/ areas of specialization:
- Civil/Water Engineering
- Environmental Engineering/Science
- Procurement
- Commerce /Accounting / Finance
- Project Management
- Community Development
Minimum qualification
A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University and the internship duration shall be between 6 to 12 months.
Gender, ethnicity, disability and regional balance considerations will be applied in the selection process.
The successful interns shall be trained in engineering design, projects supervision, monitoring and evaluation, contract management, project management, environmental social impact assessment, community engagement, financial accounting, procurement and reporting in water and sanitation projects being implemented by LVSWSB.
