KICC Hiring In 14 Departments

The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is established under the Tourism Act, No. 28 of 2011 (the Act). KICC’s mandate is to promote business of meetings, conferences and exhibitions. This entails:-

  1. Organizing and hosting meetings and providing incentives for conferences and exhibitions at the Convention Centre;
  2. Developing and implementing the national meetings, incentives for conferences and exhibitions strategy, in collaboration with the Tourism Board upon consultation with the relevant stakeholders;
  3. Marketing the Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Tourism Board; and
  4. Perform any other functions that are ancillary to the object and purpose for which the Convention Centre is established.

1.DIRECTOR, CORPORATE SERVICES, JOB GRADE 2 REF: KICC/DCS/2020

The Director Corporate Services shall provide strategic leadership and advice to ensure optimal utilization and management of the corporation’s resources in the functional areas of finance, human resource and administration, and information & communications technology and corporate communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Initiate the formulation of administrative policies, systems and procedures for the organization.
  2. Establish and maintain sound financial, human resource, administrative, ICT procedures in compliance with statutory regulations.
  3. Participating in the preparation of Corporate plans.
  4. Provide technical guidance and leadership on matter Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Administration, and ICT.
  5. Co-ordination of directorate activities by providing responsible advice and counsel to the corporation.

2. EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER (HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER)- JOB GRADE KICC 3(1POST) REF: KICC/EHK/2019

The Housekeeping Manager reports to the Director Operations and is responsible for cleanliness, aesthetic of rooms, public area, room set up, decoration, back areas and surrounding at the Convention Centre and asset management.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

  1. Oversee and direct the cleaning activities for the Corporation.
  2. Order cleaning materials and new items are to ensure that the workers have the proper tools to perform their job duties.
  3. Inform workers about the procedures and policies that have to be followed while cleaning rooms.
  4. Approval of department’s expenditure.
  5. Development and approval of budgets and expenses.
  6. Plans the work of subordinates, monitors and evaluates their performance.
  7. Responsible for physical assets assigned by the institution.

3. PRINCIPAL ICT OFFICER, JOB GRADE KICC 4, (1POST) REF: KICC/PIO/2020

The Principal ICT officer reports to the ICT Manager and is responsible for promoting the use of ICT in delivery of services towards realization of the Corporation’s mandate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Support
      1. Researching, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance Corporation’s ICT infrastructure;
      2. Developing and coordinating network security measures to ensure the integration of the ICT infrastructure;
      3. Researching, planning, implementing and coordinating network infrastructure replacements and upgrades;
      4. Coordinating the maintenance of Corporate-wide messaging system, Intranet and Extranet sites for the Corporation (Emails, Websites, Digital Signage, Telecoms);
      5. Manage outsourced 3rd Party ICT service providers and ensuring that service delivery is done according to the laid down Service Level Agreements (SLAs);

    Participating in developing of ICT standard operating procedures;

    1. Coordinating development technical specifications for all ICT related purchases;

4. PRINCIPAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER,JOB GRADE 4 REF: KICC/PSCO/2020

The Principal Supply Chain Officer reports to Supply Chain Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prepare and consolidating procurement and disposal plans;
  2. Coordinate market surveys and research for goods, works and services;
  3. Maintain and archiving of documents and records of the procurement and disposal activities for the required period;
  4. Preparing the corporation’s framework agreements for goods, works and services;
  5. Consolidation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual statutory and management reports on procurement activities;
  6. Contract implementation and monitoring procurements contracts as at prescribed in the procurement manual/ policies/ procedures to ensure adherence to the law;
  7. Drafting advisory/ professional opinion on procurement matters to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

An officer at this level will work under direct supervision of a Principal Marketing Officer and is responsible for overseeing the Corporation’s marketing campaigns both internally and externally and play a key part in communicating the organizations marketing message.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Preparing, planning and project managing the publication of all publicity material to maximize brand promotion.
  2. Creating marketing campaigns and working with the Corporation’s external Public Relation agency to see them executed.
  3. Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the Corporation’s message to the existing customers.

14. PRINCIPAL DIGITAL COMMUNICATION OFFICER (WEB DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT), JOB GRADE 4 REF: KICC/PDCO-WD/2020

The Principal Digital Communication Officer, Web Development and Management reports to Digital Communications Manager and manages content creation for the Corporation’s website ensuring content on the website stays up to date and relevant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Overseeing all content creation activities of the organizations website.
  2. Work closely with the marketing team to devise a web content strategy that aligns with the Corporation’s wider goals.
  3. Creation of content marketing calendar to ensure regular content on the website throughout the year.
  4. Writing entertaining and informative search engine optimized copy.
  5. Targeting key words set by the online manager and basing articles around them.
  6. Keeping up to date with industry best practice and monitoring content activities of competitor websites.

The Principal Digital Communication Officer, Social Media Platform and content reports to Digital Communications Manager and is responsible for managing the organizations social media and online interactions with customers though social media.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Overseeing the social media strategy for the corporation ensuring it aligns with the institutions brand.
  2. Engaging with customers through use of social media.
  3. Keeping up to date with advances in social media technology and the latest social media platforms.
  4. Maximizing followers social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google plus and Pinterest.
  5. Ensuring that approaches to social media are relevant and appropriate for each medium.
  6. Monitoring social media for customer comments both positive and negative.
  7. Building reporting frameworks to evaluate return on investment on the various platforms.
  8. Engaging with customers to resolve customer service issues and or create positive public relations opportunities.
  9. Continuous research into new relevant social media channels and their impact on the brands marketing.
  10. Working with the marketing team to look at ways social media can work within wider campaigns.

16. PRINCIPAL DIGITAL COMMUNICATION OFFICER (VIDEOGRAPHER), JOB GRADE 4 REF: KICC/PDCO-V/2020

The Principal Digital Communication Officer, Videographer reports to Digital Communication Manager. The Videographer shoots, develops and edits videos to capture important moments, sporting events, and other actions. Videographer works full time including weekends and evenings depending on when events are scheduled to take place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Performs various duties based on the event they are recording and the needs of the organization.
  2. Capture action on camera by recording important events using camera, lighting and audio equipment.
  3. Direct action; Videographers direct people to capture specific action and events for the camera.
  4. Edit captured video to tell concise and visually pleasing stories.
  5. Set up equipment and break down recording equipment before and after use. This includes taping down cables for safety.
  6. Maintain equipment by keeping all videos and audio equipment in good working order and replacing pieces as necessary.
  7. Design short promotional videos for the hiring company or for personal marketing purposes.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  6. Use time management skills to work within tight deadlines, capturing action and once in a lifetime moments on camera.
  7. Capture many different moments, people, and expressions on camera, employers look professionals with multitasking skills to fill this role.
  8. Capture the right moment on camera, which requires good verbal communication skills.
  9. Have physical fitness to transport, move, set up and take down various pieces of heavy recording equipment.
  10. Keen to detail to make precise edits to captured video and stage beautiful scenes for filming purposes.
