• Bachelor of Science in Environment, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, Tourism and related fields of study.
• Certificate in Computer applications.
• Experienced in undertaking comprehensive research;
• Outstanding Interpersonal, analytical and communication skills;
• Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy, and attention to detail;
• A high level of computer literacy and proficient in written and spoken English and Kiswahili; and
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

1.0 Background
The Council of Governors (CoG) is established under Section 19 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act 2012 with the mandate to provide a mechanism for consultation amongst County Governments, share information on performance of the counties in execution of their functions, facilitate capacity building for governors, and consider reports from other intergovernmental forums on national and county interests amongst other functions (Section 20).
For better carrying out of its mandate, the Council of Governors has an opening for two (2) Internship positions in Tourism and Natural Resources Management Committee.
2.0 Scope of Assignment
Support the Tourism and Natural Resources Management Committee in monitoring best practices and emerging trends and technologies with respect to Tourism and Natural resources.

The specific duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Support in monitoring the current Bills before National Assembly, Senate and County Assemblies relating to Natural resource;
2. Monitoring National policies relating Natural Resources Management as outlined in gazette notices.
3. Monitoring International best practices and emerging trends and technologies with respect to Natural resource;
4. Assist in monitoring any Inter-county agreements relating to Natural resources being shared among counties;
5. Facilitation and coordination of committee meetings and develop reports after the committee meetings.
6. Monitoring the media and generate briefs on matters related to natural resources and matters related thereto;
7. Assist in coordinating any Natural Resources information from the Counties

8. Support in convening of sectoral meetings through preparing memos, agendas, programme and follow up on participation of the invited officers.

9. Documentation of all matters related to the committee.

10. Recording decisions and key elements of discussions at committee meetings

11. Ensuring committee members have appropriate information available in good time

12. Representing the Council in matters related to the Natural Resources Committee and follow up briefing on issues discussed

13. To assist in any responsibility related to the Tourism, Water, Mining & Natural Resources Committee

3.0 Reporting and Supervision
The Assignment will be task managed by the Council of Governors Tourism and Natural Resources Management Committee on supervised by and reporting to the head officer.

Duration of the assignment
The internship duration is for a period of six (6) months.
