DATA SCIENTISTS

APHRC seeks to recruit two Data Scientists for the INSPIRE Platform for Evaluation and Analysis of COVID-19 Harmonized (PEACH) data project. The Data Scientist will be primarily responsible for defining data specifications needed for COVID-19 data and metadata including alternative data sources. The ideal candidate would have worked with health data (preferably longitudinal health data), has experience with health and demographic surveillance systems (HDSS).

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY: MADIVA RESEARCH HUB

Deadline:  June 30, 2022

The Multimorbidity in Africa: Digital Innovation, Visualisation and Application (MADIVA) research hub—funded by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s)new Harnessing Data Science for Health Discovery and Innovation in Africa (DS-I Africa) program—addresses the complex interplay, individual and public health challenges, and rising prevalence of multimorbidity in Africa through data science.
The objective for fellows is to undertake research during the tenure of the award. The projects should not be a reworking or mere extension of the candidates’ doctoral research project. In addition: the selected candidates are expected to have a team spirit and participate in the scientific activities of MADIVA.

TERMS OF REFERENCE – CONSULTANCY TO DEVELOP CONTENT ON DISABILITY FOR EARLY CHILDCARE WORK

Deadline:  May 27, 2022

The purpose of this consultancy is to develop content for inclusion within the Community of Practise (CoP) manual on childhood disability (both physical and learning disabilities).The CoP intervention manual provides a guide to implementing a programme to enable community volunteers and workers to support those running and working in childcare centres (centre providers), particularly informal centres in urban poor neighbourhoods.
