Deadline Extension – Internship Program At Kenya Ports Authority (KPA)

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development & Public Works. It’s mandate is to maintain, operate, improve and regulate all sea and inland waterway ports in Kenya. The Authority is responsible for the operation and management of the Ports of Mombasa and Lamu, and other small seaports like Malindi, Kilifi, Mtwapa, Kiunga, Shimoni, Funzi, Vanga and the Inland waterway Port of Kisumu; the Inland Container Depots in Nairobi, Naivasha and Kisumu, as well as liaison offices in Kampala, Kigali and Bujumbura that cater for transit countries.

Overall Objective


The objective of the Kenya Ports Authority Internship Program is to provide young adults with the opportunity to gain skills that can be applied to future jobs, obtain real workplace experience, and build a professional network among others.

Requirements


To qualify, an applicant must:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen not over the age of 35 years
  2. Be an unemployed graduate from a recognized training institution who has completed a
    relevant diploma/degree course in the last 24 months or less.
  3. Not have benefited from a similar internship program or been exposed to work experience related to their area of study since graduating.
  4. Not have exited from formal employment.
    ALL Applications for internship should be supported by the applicant’s university/college or related institution’s
    records/certificates/transcripts.
