Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Dean – School of ICT, Media and Engineering the position holder will be responsible for:
- Oversee program development and review process.
- Participate in approving all student admissions into various programs in the department.
- Receive new students registered in the department, orient and assist them to settle down.
- Overseeing all teaching, and examination processes; to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
- Managing the student’s progression, transition and eventual graduation.
- Monitoring class attendance by students and staff and timely resolutions of students and staff concerns.
- People management, including management of their performance, work attendance, leave, and discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related area from a recognized University. A PhD in a related field is desirable.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field from a recognized institution
- Must have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at University level
- At least a year’s management experience
Terms of Employment
- The successful candidate will be employed primarily as a teaching staff and but will hold the position of a Head of Department on a three (3) years’ contract renewable once.
