The National Treasury And Economic Planning Need Project Office

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a global fund created by parties to the United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change by financing low-emission and climate resilient projects and programmes.

The National Treasury is the National Designated Authority (NDA) to the GCF for the Republic of Kenya and acts as an interface between the Fund and the country programing activities. The GCF provides financial support to NDAs through the Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme which supports country-driven initiatives to strengthen institutional capacities, governance mechanisms, and planning and programming frameworks


The National Treasury is implementing a GCF Readiness Project titled “Kenya NDA Capacity Strengthening and Country Programming”. The main objective of the three-year Project is to strengthen the National Treasury’s capacity as the NDA as well as the national and county level capacities to effectively and efficiently plan, access, manage, deploy and monitor climate financing in particular through the GCF.

The National Treasury is looking for highly motivated individual to fill the position of a Project Officer for GCF Readiness Project to be engaged on contract for a period of 1 (one) year subject to work requirements and satisfactory performance over the life of the Project. The contract is anticipated to commence on 1st May, 2023
