RECRUITMENT OF SUPERVISORS AND AGRIPRENUERS FOR FARMER REGISTRATION IN NYANDARUA COUNTY

The County Government of Nyandarua- Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperative Development in collaboration with the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of supervisors & Agri-preneurs (Enumerators) for the profiling of Nyandarua County farmers, agro vets, and grain stockists through data collection for a period of one month (1) on a temporary basis.

CRITERIA FOR SUPERVISORS’ SELECTION

(i) Assistant Ward-Based Supervisors

For appointment as an Assistant Ward-Based Supervisor, a candidate must:
a) Have a minimum academic qualification of a Diploma from a recognized postsecondary institution preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics,
Community Development or any other related discipline.
b) Be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
c) Be able to communicate in Kiswahili/English the ability to converse in the
Local Dialect will be an added advantage.
d) Be identified from county government staff and should preferably be
Frontline/field service providers.
e) Be currently working in the target ward.
f) Having participated in a similar exercise involving data collection will be an
added advantage
These supervisors will assist the ward-based supervisor in providing oversight and
supervise Agri-preneurs during baseline/routine data collection.

ii) Ward-Based Supervisors

For appointment as a Ward-Based Supervisor, a candidate must:
a) Have a minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized
University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences,
Community Development, and any other related disciplines.
b) Be computer literate and able to use a tablet.
c) Be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English, and Local Dialect.
d) Be identified from county government staff. Consideration will be given to
the civil servants in the county.
e) Be currently working in the target Ward
f) Having participated in similar exercises and having experience in extension
and data collection will be an added advantage
These supervisors will supervise and backstop Assistant Ward-based supervisors
during baseline/routine data collection.

iii) Senior Supervisors

For appointment as a Senior Supervisor, a candidate must:
a) Have minimum academic qualification of a Degree from a recognized
University preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences,
Community Development, and any other related disciplines
b) Be computer literate and able to use a tablet
c) Be able to communicate in Kiswahili, and English.
d) Be identified from county government staff. Consideration will be given to
the civil servants in the county.
e) Be currently a senior County officer and subject matter specialist at the sub-county or County level;
f) Having experience in personnel management, supervision, extension, and
data collection
g) Having participated in similar exercises will be an added advantage
These supervisors will supervise and backstop Ward-based supervisors during the baseline/routine data collection.

CRITERIA FOR AGRI-PRENEURS SELECTION

Ward-Based Enumerators (Agri-Preneurs) Positions –

Requirement for Appointment :
a) Must be between 20 – 45 years of Age with a national ID
b) Must have a minimum KCSE – C- Plain
c) Must be an active resident of the ward in which the profiling exercise is
being undertaken
d) Minimum academic qualification of a post-secondary qualificationcertificates, diplomas, or fresh graduates from a recognized institution,
preferably in Agricultural Sciences, Agribusiness, Statistics, Social Sciences,
Community Development & related disciplines
e) Demonstrate some experience in agriculture or agribusiness & interactions
with farmers.
f) Must own a smartphone & be computer literate.
g) Must be able to communicate in Kiswahili, English & the local dialect in
their locality.
h) Ability & willingness to remain personally involved & committed on a fulltime basis.
i) Strong past experience in community mobilization & training farmers on
agricultural value chains
The Agri-prenuers will undertake baseline and routine data collection.

The application should include; an application letter, copies of academic certificates, a copy of the national identification Card (Certified by the Area Chief), recommendation letters, and a CV.
