Job Description

Position: Team Leader/Assistant HRO MAH

Department: Human Resources

Location: Head Office, Wote Makueni

We are actively recruiting  a dedicated and experienced Team Leader/Assistant HRO (Human Resource Officer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, compliance with statutory requirements, and fostering a positive work culture among our general laborers. He/she will be the first point of contact for general laborers and play a key role in their on boarding, compliance, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Act as the primary contact for general laborers regarding day-to-day operational issues at the client’s site.
  • Assist in payroll management by ensuring timely time sheet submission to HRO at the site.
  • Oversee on boarding procedures for new hires, including safety training and orientation to factory processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, leaves, and time sheets for general laborers.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Develop and execute monthly shift plans in coordination with line supervisors and gain approval from the HRO and client.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring general laborer performance appraisal systems.
  • Coordinate training and development programs for general laborers.
  • Manage conflict resolution, clear communication, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Handle general laborer grievances and disciplinary matters in line with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, providing necessary PPEs to general laborers.
  • Identify key talent and develop a delegation matrix for general laborer supervision.
  • Support or stand in for HRO when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the HRO.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must have a Diploma in human resources, Business Communication, or any relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of  3 years working experience in human resource functions, with 2 years in supervising general laborers or other employees in a manufacturing setup.
  • Extensive knowledge on labour laws, regulations, and safety standards relevant to factory operations.
  • General labourer relations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Performance evaluation techniques & Methods.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
