Canada-Mathare Education Trust’s 2024 High School Scholarship For KCPE Graduates : Application Open

At CMETrust we believe every child should be able to go to school. We also believe that education empowers people to change their communities for the better. Yet, most children from Mathare, a slum in Kenya, cannot afford to attend secondary school. This is why we partner with members of the Mathare community to advance education – one student at a time.

Since 2006, CMETrust has supported more than 229 students in Mathare through secondary school scholarships. This year we awarded scholarships to 75 secondary school students and 55 post-secondary students. We also provide workshops on leadership, learning, and service to our scholars during school holidays and computer training to all of our graduates. Our alumni network is active and growing in Mathare.

CMETrust is a Canadian charity run by volunteers in Canada and Kenya. We collaborate with members of the Mathare community, especially our scholars and families. We believe in the importance of learning-by-doing, and we are accountable for our work. We see the impact of our work every day in the power of educated young people to change their lives and their communities. You can help us create positive change in Mathare too: donate, volunteer, fundraise, there are lots of ways to get involved.

CMETrust is a registered Canadian charity (77652 1122 RR0001) incorporated in Ontario.
