Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Booker Academy Scholarship Program, aspiring candidates should fulfill the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence: Applicants must have demonstrated outstanding performance, scoring excellent marks and above in the most recent KCPE examination.
- Social and Economic Vulnerability: Candidates should be categorized as socially and economically vulnerable or disadvantaged, highlighting the program’s focus on supporting those facing financial challenges.
- Needy and Deserving Background: Successful applicants should hail from backgrounds that are both needy and deserving, embodying the spirit of resilience and determination.
- Personal Statement: A crucial aspect of the application process involves submitting a personal statement of not more than 250 words. This statement should articulate why the applicant should be considered for the scholarship, detailing how they intend to give back to their community if selected and supported. Additionally, applicants should outline their aspirations beyond school.
Application Requirements
As part of the application process, candidates are required to attach copies of the following documents to their application form:
- KCPE Result Slip: A copy of the KCPE result slip is a mandatory requirement to validate academic performance.
- Birth Certificate: Submission of a copy of the birth certificate for documentation purposes.
- School Leaving Certificate: Provide a copy of the school leaving certificate from the candidate’s primary school.
- Recommendation Letters: Support your application with recommendation letters from the following sources:
- (i) The Headteacher (Mandatory)
- (ii) A Priest/Pastor, Area Assistant Chief, or Imam
