U.S. Mission in Nairobi Hiring Supply Clerk (Expendables) – In-house Applicants Only

Duties

This is one of the 8 Supply clerk positions that perform clerical tasks, such as issuing and inventory of administrative supplies, to the ICASS agencies. Generates reports in the Integrated Logistics and Management System (ILMS) for services i.e., purchase and installation of residential rods, curtains, and sheers for the ICASS agencies.

Stores these files until they are due for disposal. Conducts Expendable (EXP) annual inventories. Works under direct supervision of the Supply supervisor, Grade number C52231, and general supervision by the warehouse supervisor

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 

At least one year of experience in a supply management position utilizing inventory database software is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Must be proficient in the general use of inventory database software, good working knowledge of MS Word and basic knowledge of MS Excel.Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required.Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: 

Level 3 proficiency in English (reading/speaking/writing) is required (This may be tested); Level 2 proficiency in Kiswahili (reading/speaking/writing) also required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Must have good written and oral English language communication skills. Must be able to perform his/her duty with minimal supervision. Must be able to operate material handling equipment (MHE), possess a valid motor vehicle license and have the ability to drive as an incidental driver, and must have customer service understanding.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
