The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) is a State Corporation established by the KEPHIS Act No. 54 of 2012.

The Service is a regulatory agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives mandated to assure the quality of agricultural inputs and produce. In order to enhance the human capital requirements to deliver on the mandate, KEPHIS invites applications from qualified persons to fill the following forty three (79) vacancies.

Positions

Office Assistant:

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining an efficient office environment, handling administrative tasks, organizing files, and providing support to team members.

Senior Caretaker:

As a Senior Caretaker, you’ll oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of KEPHIS facilities, manage a caretaking team, and ensure the proper implementation of safety measures.

Driver / Rider:

As a Driver/Rider, your responsibilities will include the safe transportation of KEPHIS personnel and materials, requiring a valid driver’s license and a commitment to safety standards.

Laboratory Technician:

The Laboratory Technician role involves conducting various laboratory tests and experiments to support KEPHIS’ plant health inspection efforts, with a focus on attention to detail and adherence to scientific protocols.

Laboratory Technologist:

As a Laboratory Technologist, you’ll have advanced responsibilities in managing laboratory operations, conducting complex tests, and ensuring the accuracy of results, requiring specialized knowledge in laboratory techniques.

Assistant Records Management Officer:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for organizing and maintaining KEPHIS’ records, ensuring easy retrieval of information and compliance with record-keeping standards.

Senior Driver / Rider:

The Senior Driver/Rider position requires advanced driving skills and leadership qualities, overseeing a team of drivers and ensuring the maintenance of KEPHIS vehicles.

Assistant Seed / Plant Health Inspector:

Working closely with senior inspectors, you’ll monitor and assess the health of seeds and plants, conducting inspections, collecting samples, and reporting findings.

Senior Supply Chain Management Assistant:

As a Senior Supply Chain Management Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.

Senior Catering and Accommodation Assistant:

In this role, you’ll oversee catering and accommodation services, ensuring high-quality services for KEPHIS staff and guests, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills.

Senior Administrative Assistant:

As a Senior Administrative Assistant, you’ll handle complex administrative tasks, coordinate office activities, and provide support to senior management for the smooth functioning of KEPHIS’ administrative processes.

Senior Laboratory Technologist:

The Senior Laboratory Technologist position involves advanced responsibilities in managing and supervising laboratory operations, leading a team of technologists, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of laboratory tests.

Senior Customer Care Assistant:

As a Senior Customer Care Assistant, you’ll be the face of KEPHIS, providing assistance to clients and stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships, and addressing concerns effectively.

Senior Assistant Internal Auditor:

In this role, you’ll examine and evaluate KEPHIS’ financial and operational processes, requiring a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of auditing principles.

Senior Assistant Corporate Communications Officer:

The Senior Assistant Corporate Communications Officer will play a crucial role in managing KEPHIS’ communication strategies, including public relations, media relations, and internal communications.

Legal Officer:

As a Legal Officer, you’ll provide legal guidance and support to KEPHIS, including contract drafting, legal research, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Office Administrator:

Estate Management Officer:

Supply Chain Management Officer:

Planning Officer:

Human Capital Officer:

Biometrician:

The Biometrician will be responsible for statistical analysis and modeling related to plant health data, requiring expertise in biostatistics and data interpretation.

Accountant:

The Accountant will play a vital role in managing KEPHIS’ financial records, budgeting, and financial reporting, with attention to detail and adherence to accounting principles.

Seed/Plant Health Inspector:

As a Seed/Plant Health Inspector, you’ll conduct inspections and assessments to ensure the health and quality of seeds and plants, preventing the spread of plant diseases.

Principal Laboratory Analyst:

The Principal Laboratory Analyst will lead a team of laboratory analysts, overseeing the planning and execution of laboratory tests, requiring advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.

Principal Seed / Plant Health Inspector:

The Principal Seed/Plant Health Inspector will be responsible for leading inspections and assessments at a higher level, making critical decisions to ensure plant health and safety.

Deputy Director, Import, Export and Border Control:

The Deputy Director for Import, Export, and Border Control will oversee and coordinate activities related to the movement of plant products across borders, collaborating with relevant authorities to enforce plant health regulations.

Deputy Director, Analytical Chemistry Laboratory and Food Safety:

The Deputy Director for Analytical Chemistry Laboratory and Food Safety will lead activities related to chemical analysis and food safety, ensuring the safety of agricultural products for consumption.

Deputy Director, Corporate Communication:

The Deputy Director for Corporate Communication will oversee KEPHIS’ communication strategies, including public relations, media engagement, and internal communication.

Deputy Director, Security:

The Deputy Director of Security will be responsible for developing and implementing security measures to safeguard KEPHIS personnel, assets, and information.

Deputy Director, ICT and Innovation:

The Deputy Director for ICT and Innovation will lead the development and implementation of information technology strategies and innovations to enhance KEPHIS’ operations.

Deputy Director, Human Capital:
