Responsibilities

  • Assume the responsibility of Executive Housekeeper on his absence
  • Manage Housekeeping and Laundry overnight and day operations.
  • Supervise any housekeeping contracted vendors and ensure that they perform their contracted tasks efficiently.
  • Consistently inspect public areas to make sure that the cleaning is up to the hotel standard.
  • Carry out various audits in relation with brand standard requirements.
  • Ensure that early departures and arrivals are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide support, assistance and training to all levels of Housekeeping team.
  • Taking corrective and preventative measures to ensure standards followed with consistency.
  • Assist with monthly associate job chats and appraisals for all team members.
  • Assist in building and maintaining an efficient team of staff by taking active interests in their welfare, health and safety, training and development.
  • Assist in the stock taking of all linen and equipment at regular intervals, preparing reports highlighting any shortages or surpluses and undertaking remedial action where appropriate
  • Assist in monitoring departmental costs while using resources effectively and economically to ensure expenses are kept to a minimum
  • Liaise with the maintenance department regularly to ensure that all faults, defects and minor paint repairs are carried out promptly and report more major difficulties to the Chief Engineer, immediately.
  • Ensure all requests from guests are carried out immediately.
  • Be fully conversant with standard cleaning procedures and the correct usage and dosage of each cleaning chemical.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the health and safety Regulations and to ensure that these are complied with at all times
  • Provide a high level of customer care, anticipating any potential areas for guest’s dissatisfaction and taking appropriate action to prevent this
  • Ensure any guest complaints are investigated and rectified to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with Hotel Lost and Found policy.
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests made by the Executive Housekeeper or Hotel Management.

What we need from you

  • Diploma or Certificate in Housekeeping Operations or Higher qualification in Hotel
  • Five to Seven years’ experience in a five-star hotel Housekeeping supervisory or similar role.
  • Flexibility in working long hours and a willingness to cover shifts as needed
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with all hotel staff.
  • Ability to identify and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Applies a professional, confidential and ethical approach always.
  • Works in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
