POSITION:           ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT – ONE POSITION

POSITION TYPE: PERMANENT 

LOCATION:          NAIROBI CITY

REPORTS TO:       RADIOLOGY UNIT MANAGER

Job Objective/Purpose

The Radiology Administration Assistant will be responsible for coordinating and managing workload allocation for reporting radiologists in the reference imaging unit. 

Key Responsibilities

1.Coordinate and manage the workload allocation for reporting radiologists, ensuring equitable distribution of cases and efficient use of resources.

2.Organize and prioritize imaging studies based on urgency, complexity, and radiologists’ availability.

3.Assign cases to radiologists based on their expertise and sub-specialty qualifications.

4.Monitor and track turnaround times for imaging reports, identifying and resolving any delays or issues.

5.Ensure accurate and complete documentation of imaging reports, including proper coding and billing information.

6.Collaborate with the radiologists to address any quality or accuracy concerns in imaging reports.

7.Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

8.Provide training and support to radiologists on the use of reporting software, templates, and guidelines.

9.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and analysis, to enhance the performance and efficiency of the imaging reports workflow

10.Collaborate with other departments and clinics to ensure smooth communication and coordination of imaging studies.

11.Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by your immediate supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification

  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in business administration or any other related field.
  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences or any other related field will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of the PACs system
  • BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Knowledge of radiology workflow and imaging report generation process
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and a team player.
  • Ethical.
  • Empathetic, Reliable and customer focused.
