Lamu County Government is inviting applications for various positions as per the County Government Act’s Section 59. The details of these job vacancies, requirements, and responsibilities are outlined below:
County Chief Officer for Fisheries, Blue Economy, Livestock, and Cooperatives Development:
This position requires a Kenyan citizen with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and ten years of general experience, of which five should be in a managerial position. T
he role includes being the accounting and authorized officer for specific county departments and ensuring adherence to the principles outlined in the Kenyan Constitution.
The officer will also be responsible for formulating and implementing programs to achieve Vision 2030 and sector goals.
Director of Human Resource Management and Development:
The ideal candidate should be a Kenyan citizen with at least eight years of work experience in Human Resource or a related field, and hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in relevant social sciences. Responsibilities include formulating, reviewing, implementing, and interpreting human resource management policies and strategies.
Assistant Director of Administration:
This role requires a Kenyan citizen with eight years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree in fields like Public Administration or Business Management. The duties include implementing, reviewing, and interpreting administrative policies and strategies.
Assistant Office Administrator:
Candidates should be Kenyan citizens with three years of experience in a relevant position and hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or equivalent. Responsibilities include managing e-office, operating office equipment, and maintaining up-to-date filing systems.
Plumbing Instructor III:
This position requires a Kenyan citizen with a Diploma in Plumbing or a related field. The instructor will train students in practical and theoretical lessons and ensure proper maintenance of tools and equipment.
Fashion and Design Instructor III:
Applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a Diploma in Hair Dressing, Clothing, Fashion Design, or Textile Technology. Responsibilities include training students, preparing lesson plans, and ensuring proper care of equipment.
Beauty Therapy Instructor III:
This role is for Kenyan citizens with a Diploma in Beauty Therapy or a relevant qualification. The instructor will be responsible for teaching both theory and practical lessons and guiding students in maintaining discipline.
Carpentry and Joinery Instructor III:
Candidates should be Kenyan citizens with a Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery. Duties include training students, facilitating creative learning, and ensuring the maintenance of discipline and tools.
Vessel Repair and Maintenance Instructor III:
This position requires Kenyan citizens with a Diploma in Vessel Repair and Maintenance. Responsibilities encompass teaching specialized courses, conducting co-curricular activities, and maintaining equipment.
For all positions, candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in multi-ethnic environments, uphold integrity, and be computer literate.
