Position: Furnishings Assistant

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Salary: KES 83,901.06 per month

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Furnishings Assistant will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation and impeccable presentation of the British High Commission’s premises. Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Delivery Services: You will be responsible for the delivery of furniture and stationery within the British High Commission office premises. This requires punctuality, careful handling, and the efficient organization of items.
  2. Transportation and Handling: The role involves periodic driving of a furniture canter and/or minibus, transporting goods to BHC properties around Nairobi. This will include the safe and secure movement of items between locations.
  3. Furnishings and Arrangements: You will deliver, move, arrange, and clean furniture for official residential properties. This includes setting up spaces according to specific layouts and ensuring that each property is welcoming and well-presented.
  4. Deep Cleaning and Furnishing: The position requires deep cleaning and furnishing of properties, ensuring that all areas are immaculate and inviting. You will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards expected for official residences.
  5. Maintenance and Organization: Routine maintenance of the furnishings stores and surrounding areas is essential. You will ensure these areas are orderly, clean, and free from hazards, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of our operations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Furnishings Assistant position should possess the following qualifications:

  1. A valid KCSE Certificate.
  2. Demonstrable team player skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  3. A keen eye for detail, initiative, and the ability to identify and address needs proactively.
  4. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously.
  5. Proficient in written and spoken English.
  6. The capability to perform heavy lifting (up to 45Kg) as required by the role.
