Human Rights Agenda (HURIA), a committed advocate for the well-being and rights of individuals, is currently seeking thirty dedicated enumerators to join our innovative and impactful project.
This mission is focused on Mapping Mental Health Services and Psychosocial Providers in the dynamic regions of Mombasa, Kwale, and Lamu counties, specifically allocating 12 positions for Mombasa, 14 for Kwale, and 4 for Lamu.
This initiative is part of our broader effort to compile an extensive and detailed directory aimed at improving access and understanding of mental health resources in these communities.
Position Overview:
The selected enumerators will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive surveys, collecting vital data, and contributing to a pivotal resource that will enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of mental health services in the targeted regions.

Eligibility Criteria:
To ensure the success of this project and to align with HURIA’s standards of excellence and commitment, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Demonstrable Interest in Social Research: Candidates should exhibit a strong passion for social research, demonstrated through previous studies, work, or volunteer experience. This interest should specifically align with human rights, public health, and community service.
- Experience with Mobile Data Collection (MDC): While not mandatory, preference will be given to applicants experienced in administering research through mobile data collection platforms. This experience is crucial for the efficient and effective gathering of high-quality data.
- Geographical Familiarity: Applicants must have a profound understanding of the geography of the county they wish to work in. This familiarity is crucial for the accurate mapping and assessment of mental health services. Residents of Mombasa, Kwale, or Lamu are highly preferred due to their inherent knowledge of the local areas and communities.
- Availability for Consecutive Mapping: Candidates must be available to undertake intensive mapping tasks for five consecutive days, demonstrating commitment and reliability. This continuous engagement is vital for the project’s timelines and objectives.
- Technological Readiness: All enumerators must possess a fully functional Android-powered smartphone. This is essential for data collection, communication, and coordination purposes throughout the project duration.
- Academic Qualifications: A post-secondary qualification, especially a university degree in the social sciences, is preferred. This educational background will aid in the understanding and analytical assessment of data collected.
