Key Purpose Statement
The Auto Electrician is responsible for supporting availability of company motor vehicles for uninterrupted market service. This role reports to Fleet Controller.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Receive and perform checklist procedures for defective vehicles referred to the garage.
2. Carry out diagnosis to ascertain vehicle defects before setting out to repair.
3. Advice management on spare parts requirements, raise requisition and fix the vehicle effectively.
4. Carry out corrective maintenance of company vehicles and maintain records for trend analysis.
5. Carry out motor vehicle recovery duties as and whenever breakdowns occur while on transit.
6. Advise management on critical spare parts for stocking.
7. Carry out auto electrical maintenance procedures on motor vehicles as scheduled to minimize vehicle break downs.
8. Keep track of motor vehicle inspection records and advise management accordingly.
9. Conduct regular basic awareness to all company vehicle users on auto electrical systems.
Skills, Experience & Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Motor vehicle mechanics – Electrical option
- Driving license class BCE will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a fleet maintenance workshop.
