Azure AD hosts millions of tenants and billions of identities. It serves billions of requests per day in the stacks powering core authentication and programmability. The backend directory store is at the heart of Azure AD architecture. Our team is evolving the directory store platform to address the needs for the next decade. Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Math or relevant engineering field
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, using one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript
- Ability to work as part of geo-distributed group.
Preferred:
- Experience developing server applications using Windows APIs and frameworks.
- Experience developing and maintaining distributed systems to support cloud customers.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

- Build and evolve mission critical on-premises applications
- Build and maintain large scale application testing infrastructure
- Work across organizational boundaries to drive product improvements and solve customer issues.
- Dive deep into global-scale service issues and drive improvements to resiliency, latency, and product reliability.
- Champion improvements in the quality and stability of applications and services, with a focus on engineering quality and best practices.
- Demonstrate strong customer empathy, curiosity and willingness to question and learn, and participation in live site on-call rotation.
