PCEA Chogoria Hospital Hiring Maintenance Officer & Pharmacy Technologist

PCEA Chogoria Hospital was established in 1922 and serves as a referral and teaching hospital. It has a 295 bed capacity that focuses on the provision of Curative, Preventive and Promotive Health Care services in the greater Meru, Embu and as far as Isiolo and Marsabit Counties. 

We are looking to fill the following vacant positions:

MAINTENANCE OFFICER (1 Post)

Overall Purpose: 

He/ she is responsible for managing and coordinating the following services: Hospital buildings maintenance and renovations, maintenance of hospital compound, water and sanitation, solid waste management and artisan works. He/ she will identify areas requiring attention early enough and advice accordingly.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Project Management from a recognized Institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience in a busy reputable maintenance/technical department preferably in a Hospital setting.
  • Proven technical knowledge and experience in maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize and perform maintenance tasks and repairs.
  • Working knowledge of recordkeeping and preparing maintenance schedules.
  • Experience in taking inventory of maintenance materials and replacement parts.
  • Proficiency in working with budgets and advising on maintenance and repair costs.
  • Exposure in work order system will be an added advantage
  • Must be a mature practicing Christian.

PHARMACY TECHNOLOGIST (2 Posts)

Overall Purpose: 

Reporting to the Pharmacist, the position holder’s job purpose will be to deliver efficient and timely Pharmacy services.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution
  • Current and up to date registration with the Pharmaceutical and Poisons Board
  • Keen on detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret prescription accurately.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Counseling skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Must be a mature practicing Christian
