Position Details
- Position: Senior Accountant

- Location: Nairobi Office

The successful candidate will be based at our Nairobi office, overseeing financial and accounting functions with a specific focus on the General Ledger.
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Financial Data Management
- Ensure all accounting data is accurately captured in the accounting system and kept up to date.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory financial statements.
2. General Ledger Management
- Review and produce accurate operating statements.
- Oversee General Ledger and subledger/module reconciliations, ensuring they are completed monthly.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing budgets, revised forecasts, and supplementary estimates.
- Prepare accurate financial reports and assist in the preparation of audit working papers.
4. Tax Compliance
- Collate withholding tax certificates and prepare tax support schedules.
- Assist in preparing VAT returns, conducting VAT audits, and following up on refund claims with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
5. Accounts Review
- Review debtors and creditors modules to ensure financial accuracy.
- Monitor accounts processing and closure from one period to another in collaboration with the Financial Accountant.
6. Team Management
- Motivate and monitor the productivity and effectiveness of the General Ledger Accounts section staff.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team environment.

Minimum Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- A degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting.
