Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmaceutical Technologist, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Dispensing Medication
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed medications to patients.
- Provide clear instructions on the proper use of medications.
2. Stock Management
- Maintain an accurate inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of medications to meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular stock audits to avoid shortages or expiries.
3. Patient Counseling
- Educate patients about the prescribed medications, including possible side effects and interactions.
- Address any questions or concerns regarding medications.
4. Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with all regulations set by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescriptions and inventory.
5. Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all medications dispensed meet quality and safety standards.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures to guarantee excellent pharmaceutical care.
6. Team Collaboration
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Support colleagues in maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- A Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology.
- At least 1 year of experience in a hospital or pharmacy setup.
- Registered and hold a valid license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
