Job Purpose

The Corporate Health Sales Executive will focus on driving the growth of Britam’s medical insurance business by securing new business opportunities and maintaining exceptional client relationships. The successful candidate will be instrumental in meeting annual premium targets and ensuring seamless service delivery to both intermediaries and clients.


Key Responsibilities

1. New Business Acquisition

  • Secure new medical insurance business through direct sales or intermediaries across various business channels.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to expand the medical insurance portfolio.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Provide excellent customer service to intermediaries and clients, addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to foster loyalty and retention.

3. Renewals and Retention

  • Follow up on medical insurance policy renewals to ensure continued client coverage.
  • Provide proactive support to retain existing business and prevent lapses.

4. Operational Excellence

  • Forward proposal forms and KYC documents to the underwriting department in a timely manner.
  • Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with guidelines to ensure sound risk acceptance.
  • Ensure premium collections align with the company’s credit control policy.

5. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit weekly reports on performance and business development activities to the Business Development Manager (BDM) – Corporate Health.

6. Delegated Authority

  • Operate within the approved Delegated Authority Matrix to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Business, or a related field.

Professional Certification

  • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, IIK).

Experience

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, particularly in medical insurance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of medical insurance products and industry practices.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
