Key Responsibilities
Under the mentorship of the French Cooperation Attaché and in collaboration with the Educational and Linguistic Mission Manager, you will take on the following responsibilities:
1. Strengthening Francophonie Networks
You’ll work to animate and strengthen Francophonie networks across Kenya, including but not limited to:
- French As A Priority: Advancing initiatives that prioritize French as a key language in Kenyan education and professional sectors.
- Kenyan Resource Centers for French: Supporting the development and outreach of centers that facilitate French learning and resource accessibility.
- IFprofs Platform: Engaging educators and language professionals to create a thriving online community for French teaching resources.
- Center for French Teaching and Documentation: Assisting in managing and promoting this vital hub for French language resources.
2. Communication and Promotion
Your role will involve developing and executing a comprehensive communication plan aimed at promoting French cooperation mechanisms in Kenya. This includes:
- Creating tailored strategies to engage the educational community, institutions, and Kenyan establishments (public, private, international, and universities).
- Enhancing the visibility of French language initiatives and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
- Utilizing social media and other digital platforms to effectively communicate key messages and updates.
3. Supporting the Foreign Language Assistant Program
You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Foreign Language Assistant Program, which prepares Kenyan assistants for language exchange opportunities in France. Tasks include:
- Assisting in the administrative and logistical coordination of the program.
- Ensuring smooth communication between participants and the Embassy.
4. Organizing the Welcome Seminar
Towards the end of September 2025, the Embassy will host a welcome seminar for language assistants before their departure to France. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating seminar activities.
- Liaising with participants to ensure a seamless experience.
- Supporting event execution and addressing any challenges that arise.
5. General SCAC Support
Depending on departmental workload, you will also contribute to various SCAC activities, ensuring smooth operations and successful project implementation.
