About the Role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join its team as the Director, Global Supply Chain (GSC), CRRD.
This pivotal role provides leadership across the global supply chain systems that support IRC programs worldwide. The successful candidate will ensure excellence in procurement, logistics, inventory, asset, and fleet management to maximize program impact and operational efficiency. This role is integral to driving organizational compliance with policies, donor requirements, and best practices.
As the Director, you will oversee the supply chain activities of the Crisis Response, Recovery, and Development (CRRD) team, working closely with regional and country leadership to build capacity, drive innovation, and promote data-driven decision-making. Reporting to the Chief Global Supply Chain Officer, you will lead a team of Regional Supply Chain Directors to support operations across multiple regions and countries.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Collaborate with GSC leadership to implement the Global Supply Chain strategy, annual work plans, and key initiatives for CRRD.
- Represent field supply chain needs, challenges, and priorities in senior leadership discussions and with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strong management oversight for Regional Supply Chain Directors, ensuring clear objectives and performance monitoring against annual work plans.
- Foster collaborative relationships with regional program and operations leaders to address supply chain challenges and opportunities.
- Represent IRC in external forums and working groups to advocate for favorable outcomes for the organization.
Supply Chain Operations Management
- Integrate supply chain activities throughout the project cycle, ensuring comprehensive input during grant design, startup, implementation, and closeout.
- Conduct supply chain assessments to identify areas for improvement and lead targeted enhancements to ensure donor compliance, fraud prevention, and value for money.
- Build a culture of data-driven decision-making, ensuring effective utilization of system data to monitor metrics like spend analytics and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the adoption and integration of supply chain technologies and systems to improve operational outcomes.
- Lead the deployment of GSC policies, ensuring alignment with internal, donor, and industry standards.
- Promote cross-country learning and innovation by sharing ideas, solutions, and challenges across regions and grants.
- Develop capacity-building plans and continuous learning opportunities for supply chain staff and other stakeholders.
- Support regional teams in tracking and mitigating supply chain and enterprise risks.
Partnership and Collaboration
- Develop effective partnerships with global, regional, and country teams to plan for future requirements and proactively address operational needs.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as IT, finance, and technical experts to enhance supply chain functions.
- Identify and amplify innovative practices within the supply chain, recognizing and scaling successful initiatives.

Job Requirements
- Significant senior-level supply chain management or operations experience within international organizations, with a preference for experience in developing countries.
- Postgraduate qualification in supply chain, business, economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Relevant certifications such as HLCP CSCM, APICS CSCM, or ISM CPSM are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with major donor funding policies, including USG, Global Fund, UN, and EU.
- Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed and matrixed teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including to remote and challenging environments.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Arabic are a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, SharePoint).
