Job Objective/Purpose
To oversee sustainable growth and delivery of high-quality education Avenue Healthcare College.
Key Responsibilities
Licensure & Accreditation
1. Ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements to maintain licensure for the college and accreditation of existing courses by the regulators
2. Maintaining cordial relations with regulatory bodies
3. Facilitating accreditation of new courses to increase the course offering for the college
4. Oversee implementation and compliance with all college policies
5. Monitor and evaluate enterprise risk and continuously implement risk mitigation measures
Quality & Standards
6. Overseeing curriculum and syllabus control in alignment with the accrediting bodies for nationally regulated courses and to the standards of Avenue Healthcare College for internally controlled courses
7. Ensure consistent review and evaluation the course offering and curriculum from time to time, to maintain relevance with the first changing professional environment
8. Oversee the maintenance of continuous, controlled, and rigorous internal student evaluation and examination control
9. Review of the effectiveness of teaching methods and teaching staff
10. Oversee the preparations and adherence to required standards for national exams
11. Oversee, monitor, and evaluate an effective clinical practicum program
Growth & Sustainability
12. Drive the growth of the college through increased course offerings and student enrollments
13. Facilitate effective utilization of the college capacity through efficient scheduling of classes
14. Maintain relations with partner healthcare organizations for student’s practical clinical exposure
15. Ensure that the facility has the necessary equipment/training aids and ensure that they are in good working conditions
16. Support college branding, marketing, and business development activities
17. Support the college’ revenue cycle and credit risk management
18. Oversee optimization operating resources to ensure business sustainability
People & College Experience
19. Recruitment and retention of qualified, skilled, and experienced teaching teach staff members
20. Implement a robust staff performance management system for the college workforce
21. Facilitate and support a rewarding and satisfying learning experience for all students
22. Creating an enabling environment and a high-performance culture across all college campusesÂ
23. Facilitate a culture of safety and constructive feedback between students and college staff
24. Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor in line with the job description
Person Specification
1. A nursing diploma or a Diploma in any Allied Healthcare Field. A degree in administration or management will be an added advantage
2. A valid Nursing Council of Kenya license or a relevant Allied Healthcare Professionals’ Regulatory Body
3. Updated BLS, ACLS/ATLS certificate
4. Certification as a trainer for emergency course with the American Heart Association or the European Resuscitation Council
5. A minimum of 4 years of experience especially in multi-campus college management
6. Competent in stakeholder management
7. Excellent communication skills
8. A strong commercial acumen
