We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations, create innovative menus, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Job Purpose
The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food preparation, quality presentation, and exceptional guest experiences. The role requires effective staff management, inventory control, and compliance with food safety regulations, while maintaining the set food cost margins.
Key Responsibilities
1. Menu Creation & Development
- Design, plan, and execute creative, high-quality, and cost-effective menu options.
- Ensure menus align with facility cost margin guidelines while considering client preferences and market trends.
- Implement new culinary innovations and seasonal menu adjustments.
2. Kitchen Operations Management
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to the highest quality standards.
- Monitor food preparation and cooking techniques, ensuring best culinary practices.
3. Staff Management & Training
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a motivated and productive team.
- Manage staff schedules, ensuring peak service hours are adequately covered.
- Oversee staff leave and off-day scheduling.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and skill development opportunities.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Maintain and manage inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and waste reduction to prevent food spoilage.
- Control food costs through efficient ordering, portion control, and waste minimization.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records to facilitate cost management.
5. Health & Safety Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with local authority food safety regulations.
- Implement kitchen hygiene protocols and conduct regular inspections.
6. Guest Experience Management
- Ensure food presentation and quality consistently exceed guest expectations.
- Address and resolve any guest concerns regarding food quality in a timely manner.
7. Collaboration & Strategic Planning
- Work closely with the service team to maintain and improve overall guest experiences.
- Contribute to budgeting, strategy development, and implementation to achieve financial goals.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to create special culinary events and promotions.
8. Additional Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management, aligned with the job description and organizational needs.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Educational Background: Minimum of a Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized hospitality training institute. A degree in Hospitality Management is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (Sous Chef or higher).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong culinary creativity and innovation.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective inventory and cost control expertise.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
